Position: Visa and Consular Officer

Location: The Royal Danish Consulate General, Guangzhou
The Danish Consulate General in Guangzhou is looking for a number of energetic and systematic persons for the position as Visa and Consular Officers for employment as soon as possible.
You will be part of a busy and dynamic team, where your attention to detail in every single case is combined with your ability to promote the overall Danish interests in China.
Job Description
Your work will primarily consists of handling visa applications from Chinese citizens going to Schengen. The demand for visa to Schengen is constantly increasing and there is great focus on our work from both Danish and Chinese authorities. Your job will be to handle the cases in a service minded way, while you also show that you can manage the Schengen rules.
The work comprises important control functions in connection with visa issuing. You must show an understanding for, and the ability to scrutinize visa applications as well as show great thoroughness and responsibility in your work in general.
You should display sound judgement, efficiency and be able to deliver results with a high service level, representing Denmark’s already good reputation in China.
You may also be asked to assist Danes in China with passport applications and sometimes more complicated consular cases.
The work requires that you have an assertive personality and are able to keep the overview under pressure.
Qualifications
We are looking for a team player, who delivers a high level of service, efficiency and attention to detail.
Relevant higher education
Good language skills: fluent in ChineseandEnglishboth orally and in writing
Relevant work experience an advantage
Sense of detail in each case combined with the ability to see the visa work as an important part of presenting Denmark as an attractive country
Experience with working in a cross-cultural work place
Assertive personality and the ability to handle stressful and difficult situations with a smile and in a competent manner

The Visa Team expects to issue more than 20,000 visa in 2019 to Chinese going to Denmark and Schengen. A great part of the visa applicants travel in the summer season and this is the busiest season of the year. We have both Danes and Chinese employed in the team.
